Hermann Missouri is the party town. They always have a Maifest and Octoberfest. The winery
is well known and has tours. I try to plan my trips so I float into town on the weekends for
the parties. There are other things to do there.
The grocery store is two blocks away on main street
with little uphill travel. Also on Main
street are
a drug store(the legal kind) a restaruant
a filling stations
a wine shop
a hardware store
auto parts
jeweler
eye care center
several antique stores
a bank
a Dollar General and several more. Two miles south of the Missouri River on Hwy 100(west)
where it joins with Hwy 19 there is a campground with showers. There are a lot of business
in that 2 miles. Herman has a lot of small stores and most of them are open.
They are having John Colter Days/Maifest with Family/descendents of John Colter. Colter
was one of the participants of the Discovery Expedition who came back and settled in Missouri.
