Clark's Hill/Norton State Historic Site
Return to St Louis to Columbia Page
The path to the spot where Clark carved his name/initials is about a 1/2
up and down some steep hills. I recommend making the journey.
William and Carol Norton donated the land. William said they knew that there
was Lewis and Clark history here, where the party carved their names into
a rock. They said nothing about it to preserve it for over 30 years. Now
they have turned it over to the state, so the state can take care of it.
